AIM is an initiative part of MEPI LAA’s strategy to enhance the capacity of civil society’s future pioneers and increase the impact of civil society’s work and to promote change at the core. The project addressed the alumni and university youth to build their capacities in municipal work and soft skills to enhance and promote collaborations between local NGOs under the title Alumni in Municipalities – AIM.

AIM’s target was to build the candidates’ capacities in soft skills and municipal work with trainings as the first tool, followed with a collaborative workshop between all local NGOs by providing training and a collective community service activity.

The project was divided into 4 phases in 8 months:

• Training of the participants in 2 day training sessions to cover the following topics:
  • Municipal Law & Community Development Projects
  • Campaign Management
  • Media & Journalism
  • Public Speaking & Negotiating Skills
• A 3 Day Training of Trainers for 8 selected youth participants with several key topics covered to understand the Training Process.
• 5 selected NGOs participated an intensive training to enhance their skills in the following topics: Municipal Law & Community Development Projects; Campaign Management; Media & Journalism; Public Speaking & Negotiating Skills; Action Plan Setting for Community Day Event
• 50 NGO members (5 from the selected NGOs) worked collectively to organize a large community service activity planned during the training session on the waste under the theme “The Role of Youth in Local Development” in collaboration with the Aain w Zein Club and Abadiyeh Club. With the presence of social and educational activists and figures from different regions.
  More than 300 people participated in various environmental activities including an exhibition of local NGOs: Terre Liban, Garbage Enzyme and Abadiyeh Municipality.
